Ian MacIntyre

Ian MacIntyre was born in 1958 and raised in central Perthshire/Scotland. He is a self-employed artist who paints and prints at his home in rural Fife with his German wife Hilke (a well-known artist who exhibits widely in the UK, including Rostra Gallery). They have two teenage children (also artists) and a dog.

 

He studied painting at Edinburgh College of Art from 1976-81 under the guidance of tutors including Elizabeth Blackadder, David Michie, John Huston and Robin Phillipson. He has a 1st Class Hons. B.A. in Painting. He learned printmaking in Edinburgh Printmakers’ Workshop for some years in the 90’s and although still a member there, in the past 16 years has developed an individual method of relief printing.

Ian’s work is exhibited across the UK including part of the public collection at Perth Museum and Art Gallery and the City Art Centre Edinburgh.
