Eddy Crick

Eddy Crick is a North Yorkshire based artist who creates beautifully coloured stained glass work inspired by wildlife and the natural world.

Having previously been a classical guitarist and songwriter Eddy turned his creative talent to stained glass after being inspired by a night class. Finding he had a flare for this technique the classes progressed into three years of study and he has since gained several qualifications in design.

Although he works with both copper foil and lead techniques, he prefers working in foil, as a higher degree of detail can be attained for the size of the pieces he produces. The only drawback to copper foil is that it is not water resistant, so as a result can't be used for windows, unless it is triple glazed.

Although Eddy produces a large range of work, he finds the most rewarding subjects are inspired by nature. He pushes the technique close to its limits in the endeavor for accuracy. British wild birds are his forte, most of the sun catchers are life size, but all are to scale and as accurate as possible.
